EcoSaturday project takes another step forward with support of Titan-Polymer

Businessmen, members of public and non-profit organizations discussed a new concept of the future eco-space in Korytovо Forest Park at the special strategic session in the Regional Volunteer Center on April 27. The meeting was organized as a part of EcoSaturday project.

Alina Rybina, Deputy General Director for Corporate Communications of Titan Group, an expert of EcoSaturday project, moderated the discussion. "The idea of EcoSaturday project is to take a new approach and to establish a modern ecological thinking in our country. This ambition needs a new environmental infrastructure which we plan to create. The goal is immense, so we divided it into three stages: establish ecological thinking, create green infrastructure, develop business initiatives. We believe that the public should be involved in the creation of a new eco-friendly space. That is why we organized this meeting. All ideas and proposals are welcome, they could become a stepping stone for the future project. Final design project will include suggestions from the public activists. We hope that Korytovo eco-space will become one of the centers of attraction for Pskov citizens".

Participants of the event divided into three groups "authorities", "public" and "entrepreneurs" in order to determine the design content of the ecological space and how to make it attractive for future guests. On the example of Koryto Forest Park they discussed how an eco-space should look like, what are its essential elements.

Sergey Elizarov, head of Ecospace project, Stas Osovsky, chairman of Business Russia Pskov branch, Fedor Anisimov, General Director of GlavMebel, public activists, members of Seniors’ Union attended the meeting.

"I am surprised that people from another part of the country came to us, literally walked into the woods, identified the sore spots and gathered us here to do something good in our city. I am ready to join the up-coming works on creating of eco-space and I am sure that the other businessmen of Business Russia also will support this project. The idea is amazing and very interesting both as eco-business and as a socially oriented project", said Ruslan Muradaliev.

Elena Snegireva, federal expert of EcoSaturday project, an entrepreneur from Moscow, noted that the future eco-space should not only be affordable for every citizen but at the same time create new opportunities for business. " To become interesting for entrepreneurs, the forest park area should have a certain traffic of visitors. To achieve this, we need to reorganize it and make it comfortable for guests", added Snegireva. “Another important point is that all business projects should be implemented outside the design area, leaving the forest untouched”.

At the end of the discussion, Ms Rybina said that all suggestions made during the meeting were taken into account.

Moderator thanked all participants for their pro-active attitude and involvement into EcoSaturday project and stressed out that a forest area in the city will always be an asset. "Pskov has such a unique piece of nature, it can become another tourist attraction, where you can gather modern achievements of eco-friendly infrastructure," concluded Rybina.
