German Petrushko talked with boarding school graduates about his career path

Today graduates of boarding schools in the Pskov region attended a special event which was supposed to help them to choose their future profession. High school students from Opochka, Pechory and Pushkinskiye Gory districts came to Pskov to meet some big bosses from regional business. It was organized by the regional Children's Fund as part of the career guidance project "Navigator in the World of Professions".

Today German Petrushko, General director of Titan-Polymer plant, and Head of Megaholod, Tatyana Kirilenok, talked about their career paths in a cozy atmosphere. The speakers talked about the work at the enterprises and professions that are in demand. As organizers of the meeting say, for graduates this is the first step into an independent life.

Mr. Petrushko talked about his first profession, military service in the Navy and how he built his career, starting with working as a foreman at a factory. He also shared his memories of the boarding school where he had studied and gave some advices to the kids how to go through difficult circumstances in life with dignity.

The most important thing when choosing your profession, according to Mr. Petrushko, is to find out what sets your soul on fire. “There are a lot of interesting professions in this world. No one is born a cook, a turner, a director or an astronaut. Your heart will tell you where to go, where you are needed the most. It is good when hobbies grow into a profession. The most important thing is to concentrate on your work, strive to be the best in your profession and enjoy what you do," he believes.

Deputy Chairman of the Pskov Regional Branch of the Russian Children's Fund Yulia Kolesova thanked German Petrushko and Tatiana Kirilenok for their long-term support and significant contribution to the charitable activities of the Pskov Regional Branch of the Russian Children's Fund.

At the end of the event Mr. Petrushko suggested organizing for the children from boarding schools a guided tour to Titan-Polymer plant after the launch of production. During the tour, schoolchildren will get acquainted in detail with modern high-tech production, learn about health and safety rules at the production facility, about protective clothing and the need to use personal protective equipment. They will also learn about progressive technologies providing maximum environmental protection, closed production cycle allowing to minimize emissions into the atmosphere, about the main divisions of the plant, quality and purpose of products.
