Titan-Polymer participated in a research and training conference in Omsk

On July 13th Omsk Congress Hall hosted a research and training conference devoted to the list formation of priority projects in the field of low-tonnage chemistry. The event was organized by the Chemical Industry Committee of the Delovaya Rossiya (Business Russia) business association and Russian Union of Chemists under the support of the Group of companies Titan.

Heads of government bodies, industrial companies, industrial associations, leading research centers and universities from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Omsk, Tomsk, Saratov and Pskov participated in the research and training conference within a mixed format.

The actualization of the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin became the main objective of the conference. We remind that in December 2020, according to the results of a meeting with the largest petrochemical companies, the head of the state instructed the government to take measures for increasing the production of small and medium-sized chemical products by 70% by the year 2030.

“I am proud that such event of the Chemical Industry Committee of Delovaya Rossiya is being held in Omsk, where the Group of companies Titan acts as a pioneer in a number of new trends. Currently we are introducing new and improved methods for the production of phenol and acetone by the organic synthesis method. The new technology makes it possible to increase the yield of target products, and conversely to reduce the formation of by-products. Also, the Group of companies Titan has started the practical implementation of projects connected with microfluidic flow technologies. This is a kind of revolution in the field of low-tonnage chemistry, which opens up wide prospects for the development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry,” said Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GC Titan, Member of the Coordinating Council of the Chairman of the Chemical Industry Committee of Delovaya Rossiya.

The industrial forum participants discussed production projects, which will reduce the Russia’s dependence on imports in strategic sectors.

The GC Titan implements a project in the field of chemistry in Pskov region, in the Moglino Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where BOPET film will be manufactured, which is practically not produced in the Russian Federation at present, it’s needed to be ordered abroad. That is, this is a 100% import substitution project,” said German Petrushko, General Director of Titan-Polymer Ltd.

The head of the enterprise remarked that the construction of Titan-Polymer plant in Pskov region is of great importance for the chemical industry development at the expense of the creation of an industrial cluster for PET processing.

“We will produce PET for textile purposes, which processors in their turn will create both woven and non-woven materials. The enterprises of Pskov electrical engineering cluster and neighbors of the Moglino SEZ will be among consumers of these products. Titan-Polymer in the Moglino SEZ represents a project that solves the urgent issue of import substitution - one of the important strategic tasks that the state currently sets to producers,” added German Petrushko.

It should be noted that in the world practice the division of chemical products is accepted according to the production scale. Low-tonnage chemistry includes high value-added products, which unit capacity ranges from 10 to 150 thousand tons per year. Low-tonnage chemistry is one of the most promising sectors for the Russian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth due to its knowledge content and competitiveness.

Low-tonnage chemistry products include tens of thousands of names, the most important groups are: pigments, catalysts, feedstock for special fibers, special engineering plastics used in strategic sectors of economy, including the military and industrial complex.
