Winner in the "Eco-Thinking" category of the "People's Recognition Award - 2022" was named in Pskov
On February 16, the official results of the Pskov Regional Public Award "People's Recognition - 2022" were announced. This is the first public award of the Pskov Region, which has been granted since 2010 to best representatives in all spheres of the region's life based on the results of internet voting.
Eco-Thinking is one of the 12 categories. It was established in 2021 with the support of the "Titan-Polymer" plant. Projects, initiatives and events that are implemented in Pskov region and aimed at improving the environment were eligible to win. Among the applicants for the award were individual persons and enterprises, as well as public organisations.
Nine applicants took part in the voting in the "Eco-Thinking" category. Project of kindergarten No. 2045/3 of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence in the Strugo-Krasnensky district was awarded the Public Award of the Pskov Region "People's Recognition - 2022" in the nomination "Eco-Thnking". It was voted for by 4,462 people, and was also favoured by six members of the jury.
The kindergarten runs numerous environmental activities and mini-projects: planting fruit trees, decorating flowerbeds, fencing playgrounds with green hedges of arborvitae, setting up and operating a modern observation site, growing vegetables from seedlings, collecting polyethylene film and bags for recycling, cleaning up the banks of the Kureya River.
The top three projects were a project to create street furniture and small architectural forms from recycled plastic under the brand name "Smart Environment", and a project to preserve cedar plantations in the Ostrovsky district by the Pskov environmental organisation Zeleny Krest.
"We congratulate the winner and wish further development and improvement in this field. We are very grateful to all the nominees for their active contribution to the common cause. There are many enterprising people and organisations in the Pskov Region willing to tackle environmental issues. Ecological education and protection of the environment remain one of the key topics in society and the public space. Our company annually supports the "Eco-Thinking" award, as well as many other initiatives and environmental projects. We have our own project "EcoSaturday", which is aimed at promoting ecological habits and engaging people in creating ecological spaces," said Snezhanna Ossovskaya, Director of Communications at the "Titan-Polymer" plant.
